Which Starter Should You Choose?
Choosing between Loomian Legacy starters is easier when you focus on the opening routes. Pick the Ice-type starter to help handle the Plant-type Loomians you encounter early. Build a supporting team before the first Battle Theatre so your opening battles give you practice with more than one partner.
You choose your first Loomian at the Loomian Laboratory during the introductory sequence with your mom. The Ice-type option earns its recommendation from those early Plant matchups; that gives you a practical reason to choose it without needing a competitive build planned out.
Pay attention to the tutorial battle, too. It introduces battling before you head out to capture more Loomians, and you receive free Capture Discs during the opening sequence.

Catch Teammates Before the First Battle Theatre
Use the early routes to expand your team while training your starter. Walking through the brush can trigger wild encounters.

For your first catches:
- Check the laboratory crates. Some contain free items, including Capture Discs.
- Enter the brush across the bridge. Encounter a wild Loomian and check its level before attacking.
- Weaken it carefully. Avoid knocking out something you want to catch.
- Open Items and use a Capture Disc.
Keep an eye on your starter’s damage as it levels up. An attack that left a wild Loomian standing earlier can become too strong for another low-level target.
Catch several different Loomians before heading into the opening Battle Theatre challenge. Use them in battles along the way so you can compare their attacks and practice switching partners. Capture Discs are also available to buy at Loomian Centers in certain towns.
Use Your Party Slots While Training
Your party holds seven Loomians, with two occupying bench slots. Benched Loomians observe battles and gain experience.

Put developing teammates on the bench while your starter handles encounters it can manage. When you want a different partner in the fight, use the Loomian selection option during battle.
Read each teammate’s Ability on its summary page as well. Abilities can affect battles or exploration, and evolution can change an Ability. Check the description again after an evolution rather than assuming its effect stayed the same.
Secret Abilities have a purple sigma symbol on the summary page. That marker identifies the Ability category; read the actual effect before deciding how to use that Loomian.
Rallying offers another way to obtain Secret Abilities. The base chance is 1 in 256, improving to 1 in 128 with the Ability Charm. With a Secret Ability Rally Leader, those chances become 1 in 64 without the charm and 1 in 32 with it.
Understand Experience and Training Upgrades
Experience and Training Points serve different purposes, so check what an upgrade changes before spending Robux.

| Game pass | Price | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Experience Boost | 50 Robux | Lets nonparticipating Loomians gain experience and increases the experience benched Loomians receive. |
| 2x Training Points | 50 Robux | Doubles Training Points received from battles. |
Experience Boost appears as a Key Item in the Items app, where you can toggle it on or off. Choose it if your goal is to distribute experience while raising your team.
The Training Points pass affects battle-earned Training Points instead. It stacks with the Training Points Loomiboost and the Protein Shake held item.
Temporary Loomiboosts also include an experience option. Collect Boost Tokens from map crates and Mastery rewards, then use the experience boost when you are ready for a stretch of training battles.
Mastery objectives also include rallying tasks, with some requiring 10 or 50 rallied Loomians. Work on other Loomians’ objectives while rallying continues. For experience-based Mastery tasks, place multiple members of the relevant evolutionary line in your party to contribute toward the same experience requirement.
