Which Loomians Should You Catch?

Your next catch could fill a collection gap, complete an evolution line, or give you an ability worth building around. This Loomian Legacy loomians guide helps you target those goals through weather hunting, rallying, evolution, and trading. Choose what you want before starting a hunt so you can spend your time in the right location and conditions.

Give your collection a clear priority:

• Missing species: Check weather-exclusive encounters and explore Route 9’s new encounter areas.
• Specific evolutions: Prepare the required level, weather, trade partner, or held item.
• Secret Abilities: Compare wild encounters, rallying, and strangely acting weather encounters.
• Mastery progress: Collect the Loomians needed for outstanding objectives, then work on compatible tasks together.

Keep appearance and ability traits separate when evaluating a catch. Alpha Gleaming, Gamma Gleaming, event status, and Secret Ability each have their own identifying markers in trading.

Finding Loomians After the Route 9 Update

The October 30, 2026 Route 9 expansion gives collectors several new things to explore:

• Discover new Loomians across a large new map.
• Use Field Capture as another way to encounter and collect Loomians.
• Try the new Expeditions system.

Explore the new areas before activating a timed hunting boost. Learn the paths, identify encounter clusters, and decide which catches you want to stop for.

Build a Repeatable Overworld Hunting Loop

Route 9’s overworld encounters refresh on a five-minute cycle. Immediately leaving an area and returning does not reroll its encounters.

Start at the Route 9 train station and move through the connected encounter areas, including the mines and the paths toward Flurry Fields. Use Halfpine Village as another starting point for checking the nearby woods and Glacial Lake.

Follow these habits while hunting:

1. Check each encounter cluster as you pass through.
2. Catch a target when you find it; overworld encounters can despawn.
3. Move on to another cluster instead of repeatedly crossing the same boundary.
4. Allow the refresh cycle to pass before expecting a fresh set of spawns.

Learn the route without a boost running, then activate one when you can spend its duration searching. More encounters create more opportunities, but boosts never guarantee a rare catch.

Weather-Exclusive Loomians and Where to Hunt

Open LoomiWatch → Navigate → Weather before traveling. The forecast reaches four hours ahead, uses your local time zone, and shows weather shared across servers.

Weather changes every hour of real time. Switching servers will not give you a different forecast.

Search eligible wild encounter areas within the affected loading zone. Weather can cover connected locations: Strong Gusts in Sepharite Junkyard also allow Pipsee encounters on Route 7.

Ordinary overworld weather does not affect sheltered locations such as Igneus Hollow, POLUT Campus, or Aranatta Trench. Check the forecast and travel to an exposed encounter area for your target.

Hunt Loomians That Are Acting Strangely

During adverse weather, the forecast can identify a species as acting strangely. Encounters with that species during the condition have:

• At least three randomly selected stats with maximum Unique Points.
• A pure positive Personality.
• A Secret Ability chance of 1/128, or 1/32 with the Ability Charm.

Target these windows when you want those traits. Check the named species carefully: the benefits apply to that species during the weather condition.

Prepare for Weather’s Battle Effects

Weather also changes battles during your hunt:

• Heavy Rainfall: Water-type moves deal 30% more damage, Fire-type moves deal 30% less, and Plant-type Loomians recover 1/16 of their maximum Health each turn.
• Smoldering Heat: Fire-type moves deal 30% more damage, Water-type moves deal 30% less, and Bug-type Loomians’ moves cost 10% less Energy.
• Severe Thunderstorm: Electric-type moves deal 25% more damage and cost 25% less Energy. Air-type Loomians become grounded, and sleep is prevented.

Account for these effects when choosing which Loomian to send into battle, especially when trying to avoid knocking out a catch.

Understanding Abilities and Secret Ability Odds

Abilities affect battle performance and sometimes overworld encounters. A Loomian receives its ability when obtained, and evolution can change it. For example, a Phancub with Adorable evolves into an Ursoul with Terrifying.

Secret Abilities appear as a purple sigma symbol on the summary page and a purple marker in the trade interface.

For rallying, use a Secret Ability Rally Leader when pursuing another Secret Ability Loomian. The change from 1/256 to 1/64 without the charm makes the leader’s ability worth checking before you begin.

Some species and forms have no Secret Ability, including Swirelle, Boonary, Cosmeleon, Novadeaus, and Soul Burst Loomians.

Read the Effect Before Choosing a Build

Match the ability to the moves and role you want:

• Awakening increases Attack Type Bonus from 25% to 50%.
• Expertise reduces move Energy costs by 25%.
• Harmonize makes wild encounters share the possessor’s Personality when it leads the party.
• Carol grants the entire party 10% more battle Experience, including benched Loomians, when its living possessor occupies the first slot.

Use Harmonize when hunting a particular Personality. Put a living Carol user in the first slot when working on battle Experience objectives.

Evolution Requirements Worth Preparing For

Several evolution lines require specific overworld weather. Bring the correct Loomian to an area experiencing the required condition, then level it up.

Prepare eligible Loomians before the forecasted weather arrives. Carry multiple evolution candidates when their requirements share the same condition.

Check Both Sides of a Trade Evolution

Kabunga and Craytal have different outcomes depending on their trade partners:

An Exchane Gem provides an alternative for the standard Kabunga-to-Wiki-Wiki and Craytal-to-Krakaloa evolutions.

Seasonal forms have additional requirements. Halloween Kabunga evolves into Waka-Laka when traded while holding a Nightmare Orb, while Holiday Craytal evolves into Festifir when traded while holding Decorative Lights. Trading Halloween Kabunga with Holiday Craytal instead produces Thawmin and Leshent, respectively.

Decide the desired evolution before arranging the exchange, then inspect both offered Loomians and any required held items.

Turn Collecting Into Mastery Progress

Check each Loomian’s Mastery objectives before starting a training session. Rally requirements differ between species, with objectives such as rallying 10 or 50 Loomians.

Leave rallying active while completing other objectives. For an Experience objective, carry multiple Loomians that count toward it so the same training session can advance the task through several party members.

Event Loomians and Roamings also contribute to Mastery. Review their objectives alongside your ordinary catches instead of leaving them unused in storage.

Spend Boosts on a Defined Task

Loomiboosts support different activities, including:

• Gleaming hunting.
• Roaming and Corrupt hunting.
• Experience gain.
• Training Point gain.
• Rallying.

Choose the boost that matches the session you have prepared. Activate an Experience boost when you are ready to battle, or a rally-rate boost when you are working on rally objectives.

Boost resources can come from map crates and Mastery rewards, as well as purchases. Collect those exploration and progression rewards as you go.

Trading Loomians Safely at the Trade Resort

Access the Trade Resort through the RTD. Move any Loomian you intend to trade from your party into Loomian Care first.

Each player can offer up to four Loomians per transaction. The interface also has ten display slots for showing Loomians; inspect the actual trading slots before confirming.

Trade markers identify several traits:

• Yellow: Event.
• Blue: Alpha Gleaming.
• Green: Gamma Gleaming.
• Purple: Secret Ability.
• Orange: Variant form.
• Red: Trained, with maximum TPs, a player-selected Ability and Personality, and all Rally Moves.

Reopen the offered Loomian’s details immediately before the final confirmation. Check its ability, Personality, moves, and held item, especially when another copy of the same species could be substituted.

Your original Beginner Loomian cannot be traded. Code-obtained Loomians, the Rainbow Vari from Rainbow Rick’s 2022 quest, and Novadeaus also have trade restrictions. Glacadia and Arceros can be traded separately.

Attached Burst Crystals disappear when their Loomian is traded away. Remove that risk from your trade planning before committing.

Keep exchanges within a single transaction. Avoid middlemen, arrangements requiring someone to return your Loomian later, and offers involving Robux, real money, or items from other games. Those currency and cross-game trades break the trading rules and can result in a trade ban.
