What Does Soul Burst Do?
Loomian Legacy soul burst can change a Loomian’s battle role: Florant transforms into Flychomp Florant during battle while holding Floraburst. Its base Melee Attack jumps from 55 to 123, making move selection a major part of preparing the transformation. Its Plant/Bug typing stays the same, so the extra power still comes with familiar weaknesses.
For Florant, the transformation brings these changes:
- Form: Flychomp Florant.
- Required held item: Floraburst.
- Ability: Power Jaw replaces its base-form ability.
- Soul Move: Carnivorous Snap.
- Stats: Higher Melee Attack, defenses, and Speed, but lower Ranged Attack.
Soul Burst forms have no Secret Ability. Florant’s base-form Secret Ability, Drainage, therefore isn’t the ability to build around for Flychomp.

Florant vs. Flychomp: Base Stats Compared
The transformation shifts Florant toward melee damage while strengthening both defenses. Health and Energy remain unchanged.

| Base stat | Florant | Flychomp Florant |
|---|---|---|
| Health | 105 | 105 |
| Energy | 88 | 88 |
| Melee Attack | 55 | 123 |
| Melee Defense | 105 | 112 |
| Ranged Attack | 82 | 55 |
| Ranged Defense | 105 | 112 |
| Speed | 35 | 50 |
| Total | 575 | 645 |
Prepare attacks for the form you intend to use. Base Florant has more Ranged Attack than Melee Attack, but Flychomp reverses that relationship sharply. Carrying over a ranged-focused moveset leaves its strongest offensive stat underused.
The Speed increase is useful, but its base value is still 50. Avoid planning a turn around moving first solely because you transformed.
The November 30, 2024 update strengthened both forms. Base Florant’s Health rose from 85 to 105, Energy from 68 to 88, and both defenses from 90 to 105. Flychomp’s Health increased from 100 to 105, Energy from 80 to 88, and both defenses from 100 to 112. Use the values above when comparing builds made before those changes.
How to Prepare Florant and Its Moves
Obtain Florant by evolving Antsee starting at Level 22, or encounter Florant on Route 8. Equip it with Floraburst for its battle transformation into Flychomp.

When preparing its attacks, distinguish between moves learned through leveling and moves that require Rallying:
| Move | Type | Category | Strength | Energy cost | How to learn |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bush Whack | Plant | Melee | 65 | 35 | Level 26 |
| Parasitize | Bug | Melee | 80 | 50 | Level 31 |
| Mega Chomp | Dark | Melee | 80 | 40 | Rallying |
| Thistle Slash | Plant | Melee | 70 | 36 | Rallying |
| Vice Jaws | Metal | Melee | 80 | 40 | Rallying |
| Vine Lash | Plant | Melee | 90 | 50 | Rallying |
Plant- and Bug-type attacks receive Florant’s 25% Attack Type Bonus. Compare that bonus alongside Strength and Energy cost when choosing between its same-type attacks and coverage moves.
Prioritize melee options for a Flychomp-focused moveset. For example, Vine Lash uses the transformed form’s higher attacking stat, while the ranged Plant move Nature’s Force uses its reduced Ranged Attack.
Reassign learned level-up moves through the Battle tab in the Loomians app. Arrange Rallying moves before taking the build into battle.
Florant also learns support moves through several routes. Take Root is available at Level 16 for 40 Energy, while Wonder Herb is available at Level 44 for 35 Energy. Bulk Up comes through a Move Manual and costs 25 Energy. Rallying adds options including Photosynthesis for 72 Energy, Safeguard for 35 Energy, and Poison for 25 Energy with 90% accuracy.
Its Rallying movepool expanded during 2025: Vice Jaws, Tamp, Vine Lash, Tricky Tactics, and Safeguard were added on July 7, followed by Briar Block on September 22. Tricky Tactics is a Dark-type melee attack with 95 Strength, 100% accuracy, and a 55-Energy cost.
Weaknesses to Keep in Mind
Flychomp retains Florant’s defensive type matchups:

- 4× damage: Ice.
- 2× damage: Fire, Air, Toxic, and Brawler.
- ½ damage: Water and Electric.
- ¼ damage: Plant and Earth.
- Immune: Light.
Respect Ice attacks even after the defensive increases. Higher defenses do not remove that fourfold weakness.
Also account for the ability change. Base Florant with Woodsman is immune to Plant moves; Flychomp has Power Jaw instead, leaving it with its typing’s quarter-damage resistance to Plant. Plan switches around the transformed form’s ability and matchups.
