How to Check the Weather Forecast

Loomian Legacy weather determines which rare Loomians you can encounter, enables specific evolutions, and changes the rules of battle. Check the forecast before traveling so you can reach the right area with your catching team or evolution target ready. The same storm that brings out a new species can also strengthen attacks, change Speed, or disrupt your usual strategy.

To find the forecast:

  1. Open your LoomiWatch.
  2. Select the Navigate app.
  3. Open the Weather tab.
  4. Check the affected location, weather condition, and any species marked as acting strangely.

The forecast shows conditions up to four hours ahead, with times displayed in your local time zone. Weather changes every hour of real time, and every server shares the same conditions. Use the forecast to plan your route; switching servers will not produce a different weather schedule.

Some connected areas share weather. Heavy Rainfall in Heiwa Cemetery also affects Route 5, for example. Weather-exclusive encounters can extend across the same loading zone: Strong Gusts in Sepharite Junkyard also allow Pipsee encounters on Route 7.

Regular overworld weather does not affect sheltered locations such as Igneus Hollow, POLUT Campus, or Aranatta Trench. Places without regular wild encounter patches, including Bob's Pond, Heiwa Village, and Sepharite City, also do not receive normal adverse weather. Limited event conditions have their own location rules.

Weather-Exclusive Loomians and Encounter Rates

Each of the five regular adverse conditions brings a particular rare species into affected areas. Fine weather is the normal clear condition and adds no special effects.

Loomian Legacy — Weather-Exclusive Loomians and Encounter Rates

Dense FogWispur1/64 (1.56%)Shrouded Path
Smoldering HeatSmoal1/64 (1.56%)Heat Wave
Severe ThunderstormNymvolt1/64 (1.56%)Booming Skies

Each of these five wild Loomians has a 10% chance to drop its corresponding profile background when captured or knocked out. Capture the species you still need before hunting additional encounters for its background.

Cosmeleon can appear during any adverse weather, with an encounter chance of 1/1024 (0.1%). Its weather requirement is broader than those of Hydrini, Pipsee, Wispur, Smoal, and Nymvolt.

Heavy Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorm both darken the sky and reduce visibility, but they are different conditions with different encounters. Check the forecast name when targeting Hydrini or Nymvolt instead of judging by the rain alone.

Every Weather Evolution Requirement

Several evolutions require a level-up in an area experiencing a particular condition. Bring the correct Loomian to the forecast location before gaining that level.

Vari has no level-37 requirement for Zepholen; it needs a level-up in Strong Gusts. For the other evolutions listed here, the Loomian must level up at level 37 or above while the required weather is active.

Check the forecast before starting an experience grind. If you need both Whippledriff and Zepholen, bring Dandylil and Vari together during the same Strong Gusts window.

What “Acting Strangely” Means

During adverse weather, the forecast can identify a species that is acting strangely on the listed route. Encounters with that species during the condition receive three benefits:

Loomian Legacy — What “Acting Strangely” Means

  • At least three randomly chosen stats have maximum Unique Points.
  • The Loomian has a pure positive Personality.
  • Its Secret Ability chance is increased.

The Secret Ability rate is 1/128 without the Ability Charm or 1/32 with the Ability Charm. These benefits apply to the designated species, rather than every Loomian encountered in the weather.

Check the acting-strangely entry even when you already own the weather-exclusive species. Use that window to hunt copies with maximum UPs, a pure positive Personality, or a Secret Ability.

The designation also extends across connected areas in the same loading zone when the species normally appears in both. If Chompactor is acting strangely on Route 7, the effect also applies to Chompactor encountered in Sepharite Junkyard.

How Each Weather Condition Changes Battles

Weather affects damage, Energy use, recovery, and specific Abilities. Check the active condition before choosing a move, especially when your strategy depends on trapping, sleep, or a charging turn.

Heavy Rainfall

Heavy Rainfall changes the battlefield in three main ways:

  • Water-type moves deal 30% more damage.
  • Fire-type moves deal 30% less damage.
  • Plant-type Loomians recover 1/16 of their maximum Health at the end of each turn.

Several Abilities gain additional effects. Pluvial restores 1/16 of maximum Health each turn, Rain Rush doubles Speed, and Oxidize increases Ranged Defense by 50%.

Favor Water-type attacks over Fire-type attacks when the matchup allows it. Account for Plant-type recovery when deciding whether your next attack can finish an opponent.

Strong Gusts

Strong Gusts prevent trapping moves and Abilities from keeping Loomians in battle. They also give:

  • Air-type Loomians 25% more Speed.
  • Toxic-type attacks 25% more damage.

Tumultuous increases the possessor's damage by 30%, while Oxidize increases Ranged Defense by 50%.

Flutter adds another interaction: a Loomian with this Ability removes entry hazards from its side when switching in during Strong Gusts. Flutter also grants immunity to entry hazards and powder-based moves.

Reconsider a trapping strategy while this weather is active, and account for the Speed increase before challenging an Air-type opponent.

Dense Fog

Dense Fog lets Spirit-type Loomians ignore the Abilities of non-Spirit opponents when attacking or being attacked, except against Light-type Loomians.

It also removes the charging stage from all two-turn moves, regardless of the user's type or the move's type. Those moves execute in one turn.

Gloomy increases damage by 30%, and Prowler doubles Speed while fog is active. Check the Light-type exception before relying on an Ability-bypassing attack, and prepare for charging moves to land immediately.

Smoldering Heat

Smoldering Heat reverses the main damage changes of Heavy Rainfall:

  • Fire-type moves deal 30% more damage.
  • Water-type moves deal 30% less damage.
  • Moves used by Bug-type Loomians cost 10% less Energy.

Hotfoot doubles Speed. Inferno increases Ranged Attack by 50%, but its possessor loses 1/8 of its maximum Health each turn.

Track the Health cost when using Inferno. The offensive increase comes with continuing damage to your own Loomian.

Severe Thunderstorm

Severe Thunderstorm gives Electric-type moves both 25% more damage and 25% lower Energy costs.

It also changes two defensive mechanics:

  • Air-type Loomians become grounded, allowing Earth-type attacks to hit them for neutral damage.
  • Loomians cannot fall asleep. Sleeping Loomians wake immediately when entering the field.

Overclock doubles Speed during this condition.

Choose another status option when sleep is unavailable, and reconsider switches that depend on an Air-type Loomian avoiding Earth-type damage.

How to Summon Weather in Battle

Moves, Abilities, and Globes can establish weather on the battlefield. Match the method to the condition your team uses.

WeatherSummoning moveSummoning AbilityGlobeExtending item
Heavy RainfallDownpourRain SummonRain GlobeRain Scale
Strong GustsGale ForceWind SummonWind GlobeWind Scale
Dense FogHazy ShroudFog SummonFog GlobeFog Scale
Smoldering HeatHeat WaveHeat SummonHeat GlobeHeat Scale
Severe ThunderstormThunderstormThunder SummonStorm GlobeStorm Scale

Each listed Globe can summon its weather once per battle. A matching Scale extends the weather when held by the summoner.

Strong Gusts have another trigger: Ruffled Feathers can summon them when the user is struck by a Ranged move. Fog Summon and Heat Summon establish their conditions for five turns when the possessor enters battle.

Two other Abilities change how you should approach weather teams:

  • Adaptable changes the possessor's type to match the current weather.
  • Cosmic Pressure nullifies weather effects while its possessor is on the field and increases the damage of all Ancient-type moves by 25%.

Account for Cosmic Pressure before committing to a strategy built around weather bonuses.

Meteor Showers and Egg Rain

Meteor Showers and Egg Rain belong to limited events. They can occur alongside regular weather in different locations, but they do not follow the ordinary five-condition encounter table.

Meteor Showers

Meteor Showers appear in the LoomiWatch forecast. Earlier Meteor Shower Events used Routes 3, 4, and 6; Loomunity Events have brought the phenomenon to Loomunity Park, where meteorites fall exclusively on the beach.

During a shower:

  • Collect meteorites by walking over them.
  • Meteorites come in eight colors: red, blue, green, purple, pink, orange, brown, and teal.
  • A falling meteorite has a 1/50 (2%) chance to be replaced by a Matterite or Antimatterite.
  • Encased Form Cosmiore has a 1/128 (0.78%) encounter chance, with its color matching the shower.

The 2025 Loomunity Event added rarer Black and White Cosmiore, with a 1/1250 (0.08%) chance.

Egg Rain

Egg Rain appears during limited events, including Easter Events and the 2026 Rainbow Dreggodyne Event. Its 2026 return ended on July 6, 2026.

Eligible locations include Routes 3, 4, 6, and 8, plus Cheshma Town, Silvent City, Heiwa Village, Sepharite Junkyard, and Atlanthian City. The affected area shifts to daytime with a pinkish tint and falling eggs.

Collecting a falling egg has a 75% chance to give an Easter Egg and a 25% chance to give Kyeggo. Walk over the falling eggs during an active event to collect them; Kyeggo's chance comes from collecting an egg.
